About this watch
A rare and beautiful 1950 Breitling Genève, featuring a white dial, elegantly offset by gold arrow shaped markers, gold hands and a gold capped watch case.
Reference 2509-25, this watch has an 21 rubis automatic movement, is caliber Felsa 1560, and measures 34mm in diameter.
A smart dress watch with all it’s original features, this is a perfect collector’s item, as well as an excellent, reliable watch to wear: it runs well, holds a good charge, and keeps very good time.
We have paired the watch with a new brown lizard strap, which is in keeping with the overall aesthetic.
A little history: Breitling watches are a top buy for vintage watch collectors, with a reputation for innovation, bold designs and original ideas. Breitling began manufacturing watches in 1884. In 1915 they launched the first wrist chronograph with at pusher at 2 ‘o’ clock, and the first dual pusher, with pushers at 2 and 4 ‘o’ clock, in 1933. In 1940 they made an application for the patent of the first ‘Smart Watch’ chronograph. And around the same time, starting in 1939, Breitling set-up a military aviation division for manufacturing aircraft instruments to be supplied to the allied forces.
