A little history: the ‘Autavia’ takes its name from its two original target markets, ‘Automotive’ and ‘Aviation’. The name ‘Autavia’ was originally used for a stop watch. However, once it was superseded by a new model, the name was taken forward into the manufacture of a wristwatch, which was launched in 1962, under the guidance of the companies’ new CEO Jack Heuer. It remained central to the Heuer collection until 1985.
