About this watch

If you’re seeking an affordable yet supremely elegant vintage wristwatch, look no further than this all-original Omega Genève. Behind the classic champagne dial (ref. 14702 SC) with gold hands and markers, lies an automatic caliber 552 movement (19,800 bph, 5.5 beats per second) with 24 jewels, and benefiting from Incabloc shock protection. The movement has been fully serviced and regulated, and the watch is running well. The 34mm diameter gold cap case and crown are both signed. We have replaced the strap with a new black lizard band.

A little history: introduced in 1953 as a nod to Omega’s Swiss chronographic history, the bestselling Genève range was not strictly chronographic because the pieces didn’t undergo independent testing. However, made in-house to Omega’s own stringent requirements, vintage Genèves such as this one represent some of the best value you can find in vintage Swiss watches. Incidentally, in order to use the name a watch had to be made within the canton of Geneva. The marque was finally discontinued in 1979.
