About this watch
This original Omega Seamaster 18ct Gold is a stunning and elegant gentleman’s watch, built in 1958. Having the sophisticated black dial with beautiful gold hands and baton markers, it carries the distinct Seamaster logo on the reverse.
The 18ct gold case, measuring 34mm in dameter, holds the original 20 jewels calibre 501 automatic movement with its 19,800 bph (5.5 beats per second) providing for a smooth sweeping second hand action and protected from shock by the integrated Incabloc system. Stamped within the case is the reference number 16685015.
On the inside we have fully serviced and regulated the movement; it runs reliably, holds charge well and keeps very good time, while the outside has received a gentle polish and a new lizard skin strap.
A little history:
In 1958, when this watch was built, the seahorse logo was introduced to this line and is now one of the best-known trademarks in the world of watches.
In the same year:
Ian Fleming published Dr. No, the sixth book in the series featuring British Secret Service agent James Bond; Elvis Presley joined the U.S. Army; Edward Tatum won the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine for his work in the field of genetics.
