About this watch

A particularly fine example of a 14ct Gold Omega Seamaster De Ville wristwatch dating from around 1972. The dial (with original stamps) and gold batons are beautifully crisp and exude understated style. The calendar is easily adjustable, thanks to the 563 movement. Both automatic movement and 34mm case are in fabulous condition. All is original with only the strap replaced by a new Italian brown lizard band in keeping with the spirit of the timepiece. The watch is running well and keeps excellent time.

A little history: Omega introduced De Ville as a more elegant and dressy collection in the 1960s, and it became one of the brand’s most defining marques into the 1970s. The Seamaster De Ville’s combination of style and high-performance practicality was epitomized by Sean Connery’s James Bond who wore one of the watches in From Russia with Love.
