About this watch
A beautiful watch, this Omega Seamaster De Ville Gold Cap dates back to 1965. Featuring the stylish combination of a champagne dial with gold applied baton hour markers and watch hands, this is undoubtedly a smart watch to wear.
The Omega signature logo can be found below the 12 ‘o’ clock mark, and the Seamaster De Ville brand above the 6 ‘o’ clock mark. Measuring at 35mm in diameter the gold-capped case has the infamous Omega ‘hippocampus’ sea horse embossed on its back.
Reference number 165020, it’s powered by the 24-jewel caliber 552 automatic movement, which beats at 19,800 beats per hour (5.5 per second), has Incabloc shock protection, and sweep seconds.
A timeless classic, this lovely piece is in an original condition, and keeps very good time. Fully serviced and regulated, we have paired it with a new crocodile strap.
A little history: the De Ville was launched in 1960 as a dress watch within the Seamaster line, which had been first manufactured in 1948. In 1963 it was famously seen on the wrist of James Bond in the film ‘From Russia with Love’.
