About this watch

Here is a strikingly elegant 1967 Omega Seamaster Gold Cap, its champagne dial featuring dazzlingly smart gold hands and markers. The caliber 565 24-jewel automatic movement (19,800 bph, 5.5 beats per second) benefits from Incabloc shock protection and offers a sweeping second hand. The timepiece is running well, holds good charge and keeps very good time.

The gold-capped stainless steel 35mm case (reference 166.010) features the famous sea-horse logo and, like the crown, is signed. In fact, everything here is original, apart from the suave Italian brown lizard strap – entirely in keeping with the spirit of the piece.

A little history: this delightful watch dates from the zenith of the Omega Seamaster marque which had been launched back in 1948 to celebrate the brand’s 100th anniversary. It was originally based loosely on the wristwatches made for the British military at the end of World War II.
