About this watch
Rare! An early example of a collectable Omega Speedmaster Pre-Moon model, (reference 145.022-69ST with Omega cal. 861 hand wound movement with serial number from 32xxx). This watch has a beautiful stepped dial in good condition. It’s fitted with the correct bezel for this model with the Dot Next To 90 ( DN90 ); large TACHYMETRE letters; and some minor scratches as you can see in the photos. It features the rarely seen Transitional Straight Writing caseback with references to the moon landing. (It’s called “Straight Writing” simply because the central text is written in a straight line. It was replaced in later models with a medallion.)
All functions work as expected and the chronograph resets to zero. The movement has been fully serviced and regulated. Mechanically, the watch is perfect. For a collector, this model is appealing due to its historical association, age, handsome appearance that never falls out of fashion, availability, and value which continues to rise.
The Photos Shown Are From The Actual Watch For Sale. The watch is working well.
