About this watch
This fine example of a classic Rolex Men’s Oyster Perpetual Datejust was produced 70 years on from the 1945 introduction of the Datejust marque: the world’s first self-winding wristwatch chronometer to display the date in a window.
In exemplary condition, the original features of this beautiful timepiece include: a 36mm stainless steel Oyster waterproof case; White dial with silver batons; top-of-the-line chronometer grade 1570 movement; model 1601; 18ct white gold bezel; crystal with distinctive Cyclops magnifying window – the spirit of the watch – at 3 o-clock. Rolex jubilee 7.5″ stainless steel bracelet.
Stylish, precise, versatile, reliable, sporty yet dressy, a Datejust was featured on Paul Newman’s wrist in the 1986 film, The Color of Money.
