About this watch
This suave 1969 Rolex OysterDate Precision features gold dial, gold batons, 8” steel bracelet, iconic cyclops lens over the date, plus hand-wind mechanism. Entirely original, this timepiece is in wonderful working condition and still keeps good time.
Rolex pioneered the waterproof wristwatch when it launched the Oyster case in 1926. The Oyster’s imperviousness to the elements was tested when it was worn by Tenzing Norgay and other members of Hillary’s expeditionary team on the conquest of Everest back in 1953, cementing the marque’s link with human endurance and the harshest of environments.
